Punggol East by election has to be one on one

This is a truism that everyone knows. Anything other than this is a waste of time for the opposition parties. Are the opposition parties really going to go for a 5 corner fight or 3 corner fight?

I believe they are sensible people and will not let selfish interest, pride or ego get in the way and make a fool out of every one of them. And the joke will be on them if they do so. The other theory is that the moles will appear to do the most damage possible as this by election is going to be another big step for the opposition should they take another seat from the PAP.

How would it end up on nomination day? All the posturing and chest thumping could be just that and sanity would rule and a proper and real contest will be set up on polling day. That is what everyone wish to see, everyone who wants to see a good fight.

We will have to wait and see.

The more the merrier for the true believers especially those who claim Wp stands for W party. so would like them to put up or shut up.

Each of the opposition parties is so fundamentally different in character, I think they all should stand. Let the voters decide. I for one hope the SDP candidate makeas it although this is highly unlikely. At least there would be debate in parliament. In any case this b.election is a good way for the various oppo parties to get publicity before the next election. It's also hard to coordinate attacks against so many parties.

I hope either SDP or WP will be there at Punggol East.
But not both.

I think both are credible parties with different approaches.
And Singapore is lucky to have both parties.

Hopefully, WP and SDP can come to an agreement.
And just one of them will contest.

sounds a little bit frayed around the edges.
Not quite the pseudo-Englishman he pretends to be anymore.

Did you just get an enema from your PAPig master for your inability to control the flow of internet discussions?

SDP's reputation has been tarnished for a long time for the right or wrong reasons. Many are affected by the rubbishing of this party, like it or not.

SDP needs to tread carefully to convince the masses that it is a solid thinking party and not one to mess around or flirt around when there is a chance to do so. If it goes into the fray for a 3 or more corner fight, it will confirm that it is really a wishy washy party that lives by its heart than using its head.

PAP-MIW Joke

A colo-rectal surgeon to represent the People's Asshole Party.

I think at the end good sense will prevail. The posturing at this moment is required 1) to confuse PAP and 2) to appease their own supporters that they are pro-active. Lets see.

You gotta feel sorry for this colorectal surgeon who is going around trying to win votes for PAP.

Hi! I'm from the PAP. I'm a colorectal surgeon. Wanna shake my hand?
Yucks!

Q: Why would a colorectal surgeon want to moonlight as a politician?

A: Because he has difficulties making ends meet.

Reasons for having the by-election and having it early:
1) We have a busy national agenda this year.
2) The White Paper on Population will soon be debated in Parliament.
3) Budget 2013 is around the corner.
4) The Our Singapore Conversation is translating the views of citizens into programmes to improve our lives.
5) Sustaining economic growth and raising workers' incomes is a continuing preoccupation, especially in a weak global economy.

Now, let's see what excuses for NOT having a by-election might be:
1) We have a busy national agenda this year.
2) The White Paper on Population will soon be debated in Parliament.
3) Budget 2013 is around the corner.
4) The Our Singapore Conversation is translating the views of citizens into programmes to improve our lives.
5) Sustaining economic growth and raising workers' incomes is a continuing preoccupation, especially in a weak global economy.

This is a truism that everyone knows, but only the opposition parties contesting refuse to know.

My only wish is that those spoilers loose their deposit to teach them a lesson.

Truism is an ideal and all ideal sounds good, but hard to actualize or even practice.

Politicians will say they are in politic to serve. But that is pure bullshit, though everyone of them will assure and promise that to the electorates. They will say they will look into your wellbeing when elected.

The sincerest is probably there to lead, however and invariably all are in there for the priviledges of authority, namesake and enrich themselves. In short, they rule and lord over You whence they got elected by You. So, how?

Voting is compulsory in Sin, therefore voters will have to pick a satan or a devil, no other choice except to spoil the vote.

Choosing the lesser evil then shall be the next ideal choice and the question will be how to determine such a choice. The candidate that promises the least and the least professional shall be the one to choose. Those that are from the elite class whether from family background or their profession are less likely to understand the problems the hard(heart)landers face.

Candidates that grew up in the heartland and are not in high profession will be more able to understand and empathize with the average citizen. Since they grew up and are with the working class most of the time, they are more in tune with the people.

Next to consider will be the party the candidate comes from. Their track record and their potential are important. One that had won and retains constituency(cies) continuously and constituents are happy with them is obviously good, if not at least more reliable and can be trusted.

Hopefully, Voters in Punggol will elect a more humble candidate from whichever party. Put promises and offers from the candidate and or party aside. Remember it is the lesser of the evil that You have to pick and not a cai shen yeh or goddess of mercy.

After all has been said, I will vote for PAP.

They are the ones that you can rely on to manage your estate well, both physically and financially.

Red Bean,

Either the Opp are blind and cannot see your headline

"Punggol East by election has to be one on one".

Or they all simply cannot read and understand english.

I just make another post on the issues. The opposition, the real contenders and the fakes, the moles, the charlatans, the pretenders, the reckless, the jokers, the cookoos, the desperados, will all appear in this by elections for all to see.

It is show hand time. The voters must look at them carefully, make their assessment and write them off forever in the next GE.
