The crash was reported even in our TV. The details, witness said explosion in the air. Debris found in Batam Island.

Oh dear ! Oh no !

This is no good news !

Latest, plane circling Spore trying to make emergency landing.

Chua Chin Leng aka redbean said...

Don't worry. Plane landed in Singapore.

Now who is the official who made this crash report? Can't he tell the difference between a plane crash, an explosion and the plane still flying?

Chua Chin Leng aka redbean said...

Let me try to recontruct. An explosion and a part of the engine got blown off. Some debris fell onto Batam. But the plane was still flying and managed to land safely at Changi.

There was engine trouble and there was an emergency landing. No crash as reported earlier.

Guys,

Relax, the plane has indeed landed at Changi.

Modern aircraft is safer than a car on our suicidal roads.

Yawn. Just woke up.

Which is which? A plane, a bird or superman?

I am confused!

Relax, you're flying Qantas

Kani nah. I could have been on that flight. Lucky I usually fly SQ -- my favourite airline.

Ⓜatilah $ingapura⚠️ said...

Wally, you forget -- Aussie pilots, and a overly kiasu regulated environment for air safety. sure, occasionally shit will happen -- that is statistically true.

This one looks to be a very close call.

Sure come up in parliament. Anything to do with safety issues means the govt will definitely be making trouble. Big trouble.

Ⓜatilah $ingapura⚠️ said...

What I meant to say was it is not just the safety of the plane.

Thank goodness, this is the good news. The captain deserves a five !

Walau Matilah,

You can afford to fly SQ ah?

Me can only do the Budget airlines and then only the specials, $0 or $9.99.

The thing I hate about Qantas is their cabin crew attitude.

They think this chinaman should be on a slow sailing junk to Arsetrailier instead of flying with them serving as waitresses and waiters. WTF.

My all time favourite when I was making money was Cathay Pacific. That is a fantastic airline. The service, comfort and competence of SIA with the price nearly matching the best Budget airline.

Hehe.

Mr. Bean,

Your post Title must have upset quite a few of the relatives on that plane who happened to read your blog.

Hehe.

Wally,

I like SQ. Ive been flying PER-SIN-PER for 30 years mate. No complaints there. I meet the same cabin crew over and over. The price? Not a problem. Usually my trips to S'pore mean I make some dough, so I don't mind paying.

Qantas in-flight service sucks balls, as you so aptly put it. It's not a "race" thing, I can assure you -- they treat everyone equally -- equally with the same contempt, most likely. Even Aussies complain about the service or lack thereof on Qantas. The reason people fly is because Qantas is SAFE, and occasionally cheap -- especially with flights returning to Australia. (It used to be a lot safer...but that's another story).

asian airline tend to rock better WRT in flight service. SQ & SilkAir, MAS, Thai, Cathay, Emirates all fantastic. China airlines: forget it.

Asian budget airlines: not bad. My favourite which I fly all the time to sexy, funky Kuala Lumpur (more fun than Singapore, but not as rocking as Bangkok IMO) -- Air Asia.

When I take China airlines within China, I like making friends with the stewardesses. They are curious about Singapore and think the streets are paved with gold. WTF. I always order my drinks with one particular target and chat her up. Sometimes I score, sometimes I don't. But who cares? You win some, you lose some.

Lately, Qantas has been having a lot of problems with safety and maintenance with incidents reported quite frequently.

It is a known fact that SIA and Silkair planes are almost brand new. Therein lies the crux of the matter, after all, we ain't such a stud in bed at my age as when I was a 20+ hustler.

Just received an email from Tiger Airways. $9 all in including tax to fly to KL or Jakarta. Wow, may just fly and stay in their best hotel for one or two nights with the airfare saved.

When the news flashed over my screen, I said, chia lat. This bloody aircraft carried 500 passengers. And Singapore bound means a lot of Singaporeans, you bet.

Thank god that it is another screw up report.

Lets not boast too much on our national airline.Thinking too highly of ourselves may result in complacency and may also result in jeolously and may attract the unnecessary.
I still wonder how that plane landed in Musi River.
And lets not expect too much from those S$0.00 or 99 ct budjet airline .Try to order and pay for some drink from the friendly crew.Help to motivate them.If budjet airline survive,National airline fare will be kept low.I love budjet airline.I love star jump .hehe

When I travel the $0 or $9.99 special, I bring my own "Ice Mountain" distilled water and tuna sandwiches lovingly prepared by my good wife.

I also have Khong Guan individually packed biscuits and will offer one to some sweet young thing sitting next to me. If the seat is occupied by some low life, I will save my pack of biscuits for another day.

Sometimes toilet paper also don't have, so I whip out my toilet roll which I also packed in my backpack. I also carry Fairprice anti bacterial moist wipe to clean the seats before sitting and everything I handle because you never know. On these budget flights, everyone looks and smell really down and out and that includes your brother, Me!

Also, my IPAD is my constant travel companion because there is no in flight entertainment. None whatsoever! I can watch video movies on my IPAD or play chess games with the computer and this little fuck has juice to last seven hours! Enough time for most of my sojourns.

Oh, before I forget. The so called, "stewardesses" all look like canteen helpers.

If I wasn't such a pauper, I wouldn't even touch a budget airline plane with a barge pole!

Hehe.

News flash, wrong, just being today media.

Sekali lagi!

Wah, can buy 4 D, man!

Another Qantas plane makes a "phew-we-nearly-crashed" landing in Singapore.

Jialat. The Aust cheng-hu is now going to come with their big meddle-stick.

No sympathy from me: I dun like that airline anyway.

Ground the entire fleet! Safety first, children!!

Chua Chin Leng aka redbean said...

Same engine, same Singapore to Sydney route and ports of call, same engine type, same airline,...what else is the same?

Same maintenance crew? Is it engine fault or more to it? So far the blame is on the Rolls Royce engine....

I would say it is "statistical clumping" -- 2 similar random events occur that our pattern-seeking monkey brains automatically assume a common "fact" of causation.

The 2 incidents could be connected, but it is not necessary that they are.

Whatever the case, it is a PR cluster-fuck for Qantas.

I hope there are lots of passenger cancellations. Then they'll have to offer cheap specials to (hopefully) win back the market.

Then other carriers will have to follow suit to avoid losing their market share.

The the budget operators will have to offer "goodies" to keep their cheapskate fans, because they know cheap-bastards are not loyal -- the moment they see a regular carrier offer heavy discounts, the spcies goes "cheep cheep cheep" alerting everyone else in the species, and they all flock to new Bargain Nivarna.

I thank you Qantas, on behalf of all the other cheap-skate, kam siap, AWOJs (Asians Who Out-jewing Jews), hoarders of the world.

The Rain Of Shit -- The Reverse Situation

Consider the porspect of 2 seperate SIA planes making seperate emergency landings at Sydney in as many days.

What do you think WILL happen? I offer some possibilities:

1. The govt will immediately BAN all SIA flights into Aust airspace

2. The media will go crazy

3. The opportunistic demon-spawn of the sacred welfare state will be screaming for "compensation" for risk and terror caused by "deadly" SIA aircraft

4. Every racist, nationalist, political animal, xenophobe will be frothing at the mouth spewing emotional, neurotic bullshit in an effort to whip up mass hysteria for personal gain

Singaporeans are too nice: they should complain to their govt to TAKE ACTION (in the famous PAP style) to prevent these flying buckets of doom from entering S'pore airspace and endangering lives and property.

Time for Singapore to stir up some shit!

Chua Chin Leng aka redbean said...

Matilah, you are top form today.

Agree, especially those living in the eastern part of this little continent, I mean in Changi and Bedok area. Careful, debris may fall out from the sky.

Then again Singaporeans would not raise a whimper for sure. What about the Batam Indonesians. Debris hit their roofs and heads. Time to ask for compensations you dodo. What are you waiting for. You have the evidence and the injuries and damages as proof.

Some times we can be quite evil: )
