Blogging - Severing the shackles of dependency

The MOH has taken a big step into how it disseminates information through its blog. In a way it has not only by passed the tedious and slow process of depending on the old media to inform the consumers, it has taken full advantage of what new media can do for the ministry, freedom, speed, efficiency and in full control of what they want to say. No need to brief reporters on what to write, no need to vet for accuracy, no need to wait for the editor's approval, no need to depend on the printing schedule of the media and no fear of no space available for their articles. They can say all they want to say at and when they want it. By breaking free and doing it on its own, and with other ministries probably following suit, this mode of communication will eventually become more widespread and even a norm. In the not too distant past, some professional media personalities have been scornful about the new media, questioning their accuracy and integrity. The tune has changed and I have heard some saying that it is the way to go forward. And people can be accountable and responsible for what they posted, with a name behind the article instead of a faceless directive from an organisation. The move into new media is gaining momentum, though still in a small way.

Great. Perhaps now it is possible to engage civil servants one-on-one.

And they have no excuse to run for cover, because if Barry Hussein can do it -- and he is in the Big Time league of govt power -- then the over-paid kuching kuraps running (owning??) S'pore's ministries can jolly well answer Joe and Jane Citizen.

Oh Matilah Singapura:

do not be surprised that your comment/question failed to appear except in your own screen.

It happened to me, i found talking to myself more worthwhile than trying to engage those leaders who volunteer to have dialogues with the people through the Net. Many will treat us and our efforts as invisible.

There is utter lack of manners in some of them. They gave cold shoulders to those with difficult counter-evidence point of view.

Btw, i posted this comment at 'Big Brother Watching' in TOC, however, it was published just for a few minutes and then went into moderation. As that Thread has link to blogging and here is about blogging, i got permission from Redbean to 'tumpang'(take a ride) it here. It reads:-

FEAR NOT Singaporeans !

Big brother already know for a long that there are lot more people who loathe the leadership than those that support it and are trying to prevent further damages by instilling fears. However, fear was greater in the past, but it did not stop more people from hating the leaders, INSTEAD MORE ANIMOSITY AND ANTAGONISM ARE GENERATED.

Should BIG BROTHER be stupid to further alienate and make the people more antagonised, THEN BIG BROTHER IS DIGGING IT’S OWN GRAVE.
BIG BROTHER SHOULD BE COGNIZANT OF THIS FACT.

IT IS ALSO HIGH TIME TO RID OURSELVES OF ANY FEAR WHEN ONE IS CLEAR IN HIS/HER CONSCIENCE.

FEAR DOES NOT SAVE US THE PEOPLE FROM SUFFERINGS.
FEAR IN US ALLOWS OUR LEADERS TO DIG FURTHER INTO OUR WEAKNESS AND EXPLOIT THIS WEAKNESS IN US.
WE HAVE TO WAKE UP
TO THE FACT THAT FEAR(IN US) PROVIDES US NO PROTECTION, SAFETY NOR SAVE US FROM ABUSES.

Please do THE RIGHT THING and that is get the JUSTICE that we, the PEOPLE deserve by saying, doing the right things WITHOUT FEAR!

Cheers

relac lah as matilah says. There is a whole outside to explore, enjoy. Stop torturing yourself. The world is not going to change even if you were to bang your head against the wall.

Look at me. Relac, Fly, come home to recuperate and Fly up up and away!
