A chicken and egg story

The kpkb in the internet was not in vain. Ok, maybe the govt did not listen to cyberspace whiners. But the govt is listening and will take note of the unhappiness raised by the public through all the channels available. We will see more in dept study of the annuity plan before it is being push out to the people. But changes there will be to revamp the CPF withdrawal plans. The new scheme plus the bonus for deferred withdrawal will cost the govt $1.2 billion each, or $2.4 billion in total if I heard it correctly. The govt appears to be very generous in this area. But someone has to foot the cost, all $2.4 billion. There is no free lunch. We would have to wait for Eng Hen to explain how he is going to pay for this proposal. Before the chicken are out we need to know who is going to lay the eggs. I think we all know the answer.

Hahaha, take note ? Just like they took note of the public discontent at the rise in GST, bus fares, MRT fares, ERP charges, minister pay rise etc etc. the list goes on. AT the end of all that note taking, what came out of it ? Absolutely nothing. They went ahead and proceeded with whatever they wanted to do, anyway. You're an even bigger fool that I thought if you really believe it is going to be any different with the compulsory annuity and CPF changes.

hi anonymous,

there are times when it is safer to be a fool. just think about it.

If you want to be a fool, or be made a fool of, that's your prerogative. I like to see things as they are, not through some rose-tinted glasses.

whether a person is a fool or not depends not on what he thinks or what people thinks but what he really is.

a fool may think that he is not a fool. that is very normal. and just because people think or call someone a fool, it is not necessary that the person is a fool.

many have been calling the politicians fools. but they are laughing all the way to the banks, like it or not. who ends up the greater fool?

I agree with anon about all this talk about taking note but in the end it still means doing what they set out to do. Singaporeans are like little children that can be pacified easily and fooled convincingly. I doubt all the debates in Parliament will change anything. Well, I for one won't be watching the wayang, because I know the outcome.

sometimes no need to say the obvious. we all know whatever will happen will happen.

the only thing i find very disappointing is that the opposition are unable to learn a thing or do. just go ahead and promise the moon. the people will eventually pay for it in one way or another.

you want world class transport, i give you. you want world class medical facilities, given. world class environment and housing, given. you pay.

Eureka! They promise you pay lah!
But opposition cannot promise free lift-upgrading, must also pay and pay basis. That's the beauty of it.

Politicians are not fools. If they were, they wouldn't be laughing their way to the banks. The fools are:

1. the docile sheeple who continuously vote them in despite their arses being sore from more than 4 decades of being screwed
2. the cyberspace whiners and black tshirt protest organisers who believe the politicans even give a shit to their foolish antics

Anonymous said...

Should also add a third one: those who believe the clowns we have as an opposition can actually learn or do anything intelligent

Chua Chin Leng aka redbean said...

can add a fourth one. those who come here everyday to listen to fools and begging for more : )
