It is my money

When would Singaporeans start to ask the ministers in public dialogue sessions that the CPF money is their hard earned money and not to be managed against their wishes? It would be nice if they ask the minister, 'Mr Minister, Sir, what makes you think you can decide whatever you want to do with OUR money?' And if the minister says that they have been elected by the people to decide what is good for them during the general election, then the people should accept it as they are the one who elected the ministers and MPs to Parliament. It was their choice, their right to decide who they want to represent them in Parlaiment. Having cast their votes, they have to live with their choices. And for those who did not get to vote or voted against, just too bad. This is the system, and this is our democracy.

I say... why is this kotek making noises again? That money in the CPF doesn't belong to you lah. How many times do I have to remind you of this?

If you are going to challenge a minister, at least have the facts there!

It is not your money. Why? Because CPF is a TAX which is used to fund a PYRAMID SCHEME. Therefore once you surrender your money, it ceases to be yours. Sure, they issue you with an "account", but that is easy to do—any average con man could easily do the same thing.

If you really "owned" the money, you could do what you pleased with it—as having COMPLETE CONTROL over something is one sign of OWNERSHIP of that thing.

So stop trying to claim that it is "your" money. It is not. And it will never be, because of THE NATURE of govt welfare schemes.

You might as well get used to it and accept the fact that there won't be any dough for you there when you get old. And then you can get on with your life, free of the "worry" about the MYTH of CPF, and do whatever else you need to do to ensure security for your future.

way mati,

the govt has never say that it is a tax.
the govt never say that they will not return to us.
the govt never say they own the money.
the govt say the money is kept for our own good.

i think while they are busy thinking of how to protect this money for us, they just absentmindedly forgot that it was our money. so we only need to remind them about it.

Excuse me redbean sir, do you know you sound really desperate abt your cpf money? It seems like that's all you are most concerned about....

Honestly, I believe the cpf money is not ours, it belongs to the country. Cpf is actually a form of social tax with co-payment benefits by the employers, to ensures your social security in old age.

I think you must have got it wrong to believe the money is yours.

Redbean, you goondoo or what. Politicians don't say what they mean, nor do they mean what they say. Look at their actions, and you will come to the (sad) realization, that what matilah singapura said about the CPF is indeed true.

i am no desperado with my cpf. I have taken out whatever that can be taken out. and every now and then i will go back to them to challenge them on anything that i think i should be able to take out. trust me, they received a lot of mails from me.

it is a case of your money and not allowing it to become other people's money. once you accept that position and resign to it, your money will be gone.

you must keep reminding those people that it is your money. one of these days i am going to appear in the dialogue session and tell the minister, look, this is my money. please don't meddle with it and my life. i know how to look after myself.

my next big post will be titled, NO NEED FOR CPF ANY MORE. get the idea?

it is not that redbean. if it is your money, why then do you think they can change rules to withhold the funds. if you claim it is really your money, then somebody must be doing wrong and it then becomes a legal issue. what i am telling you for the empteen time is that the cpf money is really not your money and it is legitimately not yours! everything is above board... do get that into your ancient skull? sorry.

not trying to be rude redbean but it is funny that when everyone is saying something you dun seem to get the drift .... u ok or not?

redbean !

i definitely got the drift. and i definitely know what you people are saying.

when we define ownership or my money by conditions like having control over it, quite rightly i must agree, then it is right to conclude that it is not our money anymore.

but would anyone in govt dare to say it, that it is not the people's money? i will accept my skull is thicker than yours when a govt politician gets printed on the msm saying that cpf is not the people's money.

The PAP politician are not as dumb as you are, redbean. They may not say that the money doesn't belong to the people, but their actions clearly demonstrate that is the case. You can live in your own fantasy world believing what you want to believe, you think they give a damn ? I know I wouldn't if I too have a free hand to do as I please with 'your money'. Go figure.

You make noise at CPF, for what ? They are just the foot soldiers, doing the bidding of their political masters. This is a true case of barking up the wrong tree.

You have no idea how ridiculous a statement like that makes you look.

Journalistic integrity? My 2 hairy rambutan!

Redbean is no toddy, that's for sure! He digs, pricks and do all the nonsensical talking to get bloggers thinking here.

*elle*

they are just provoking me to say the unpleasant truth. there are certain things that one should not shoot freely in cyberspace.

some of the thoughts or views that we have are not for postings. and we should not accuse anyone of anything. better to let people assume that you are foolish than to become a real fool: )

from how people read and interpret my posts it will review their level of understanding and appreciation of what i am saying. yes, i am saying all the right things in the wrong way or all the wrong things in the right way.

i can forgive those who 'liat boh kew'. elle, this is a hokien dialect phrase meaning catch no ball, or cannot figure.

Come now, you flatter yourself too much. If you are right, you are right. If you are not, you're not. You want to write nonsense and claim that you're great, well that's your prerogative. But try and con people by boasting about your literary skills??... please lah.

without this blog, and without a guru like redbean, where would kids like the two of you learn some wisdom?

the very fact that both of you are sticking to the blog like leeches only show how impt this blog is to your lives : )

Chua Chin Leng aka redbean said...

ooh, the paid blog browsers are still around : )

this is the typical unthinking singaporeans that will just do the job the paymaster paid them to do without bothering about rights or wrong.

this is what i fear for the future of singapore. we have too many prostitutes.

it is my money!

where are all the human rights jokers? i want to ask them whether this is a violation of human rights.

freedom of expression, freedom of believe, freedom to spend my own money.

Anonymous said...

You are the only here who still believe your CPF actually belongs to you. There is no violation of any human rights, because the majority of the prople signed those rights away more than a year ago.

i suggest redbean to carry a placard outside his favorite mrt station, yio chu kang is it?, to demand 'where is my money?' maybe passer-bys will take pity on him being so ragged and cheap looking to give him 10cts coins. if he work hard that way he may be able to retire before 90.

Chua Chin Leng aka redbean said...

you are using very sensitive phrases again. yesterday was old fart. today is 'where is my money'.

redbean no need charity. every month whatever i earn, i spend only 10%. the rest keep for good.

thrift is a virtue.
