Running out of ideas

Running out of ideas When one runs out of ideas, anything will do as long as it is an idea. Better than doing nothing. And best when the users will have to pay for the brilliant idea. So we have expensive electronic system to tell motorists how long it takes to travel to another point. We have electronic boards to tell commuters how long it will take for them to reach the start of a taxi queue. And now how long it will take for the buses to be late. Next time you will have electronic boards to tell you how long before the ERP will come on go off. And better still, to tell the motorists how much it will cost to go pass the gantry. And motorists who are caught in an expressway jam, there will be electronic signs to tell them how long will they get out of the jam. All these are great leaps forward in the harnessing of technology and science to improve people's life and lifestyle.

Don't worry lah. It will get worse—I personally guarantee you.

S'pore is BIG on RFID technology.

And the cost of these units is LOW—a few cents to make by large scale production. So people like you won't be able to use the "exorbidant cost" argument anymore. ;)

You won't be worrying about whether the bus or taxi is on time or what roads have jams and which ones are clear. You'll be concerned about the state having too much information about you and your family. This is not a "doomsday prediction"—the money is already on the table, and with the structure of The State, any form of oppression is possible. Transparency and accountability not required. The citizens can yell and scream all they want—and it won't make an iota of difference to the end of their liberty. (which they didn't bother fighting for when they had the chance to)

The State will be able to trace all your purchases (they are considering embedding RFID into currency notes), track virtually every physical object in the territory (including pets), track you—because your clothes will have an RFID tag... man, they'll be able to tell you whether or not YOU are going to be on-time whilst you are travelling.

WOW! This is cause for celebration, because my Matilah! prediction has been once again supported by fact. Off to a go-go bar am I, then to a nice massage by a nubile Thai girl.

I'll be thinking of you redbean. It'll help me "tahan lama"! :-)

when the mindset is to do something and got nothing better to do, so anything also jalan. mind you, the trial is going to cost $10 million or so reported.

and to implement the system island wide, the cost is immense.

There is no cost too great for total control of the citizens. And as an added bonus: the citizens are the ones who always end up paying for their own oppression.

Matilah Singapura is right on track

YAY!!
