smart city needs smart cars

Singaporeans need to drive a specially designed smart car to get around. The car should ideally be fitted with a computer to tell the active time of ERPs, their locations and the fees charged. Driving around Singapore is getting more and more complicated with the introduction of so many ERPs and fuzzy logic that will activated the ERPs when there is congestion and charge variable fees depending on the seriousness and usage of the road. Smart city needs smart cars. And the computer must also have satellite technology and positioning system, with maps to show alternative roads to take to avoid jams and costly ERP fees. Navigating through Singapore road system is never the same again. Is it stressful trying to remember where are all the ERP gantries and how to avoid them?

not only we need smart cars, we also need energy efficient cars to save the earth of pollution.

probably a new energy form may be developed to replace oil. biofuel, solar energy are possible. only how to make them cheaper and more efficient.

the world is beyond repair. it is on the cusp of destruction.

Biofuel still produce CO2 as it is made from ethanol, so its not viable in the long term.

We need fuel cells and nuclear power, only that the nuclear waste be stored on somewhere safe, maybe on the moon?

All this talk of alternative energy is pointless. Believe me, the time is near when people will revert to the ancient means of transportation using horses, camels and donkeys.

life exists and continues in perpetuity all because life works in cycles. everything will come full circle and starts again.

I dont mind horses, camels and donkeys as transportation means, really.

But how near is your near? 1 day? 1 week? 1 year? 1 century? 1 millenium?

Go look up Peak Oil in Google. By my estimates, it will happen in the next 20 years.

oil is running out according to current estimate. it will eventually be priced so high that not many can afford to own a car.

for car lovers, better own it now. for in 10 years or so, the impact would be greatly felt by the masses.
